"Welcome to the HCG Challenge"

Hey to all fellow hCG people! My name is Sheila and I am writing to you from the big state of Texas. I am married and have four children – ages 14, 18, 23 and 25. Before I begin to tell you my story, I want to say a great big THANK YOU to drugdelivery.ca for the opportunity to participate in this challenge.

Each and every day in my private and professional life is a challenge. In my private life, even though I am married, I feel like I am a single mother. My husband has a job that requires extensive travel. He is usually gone for two to three weeks at a time, and then will be home for three days, and then it is back on the job for him. There are just my 14 year old daughter (Shauna) and my 18 year old son (Billy) at home with me. Billy was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was 18 months old. As a young child, it was very easy for me to take care of him. Now that he is older, I find that my weight is getting in the way the care that Billy needs. My professional life is a challenge because of the subject matter that I teach (I am a teacher of middle school math). It seems that math isn’t the “fun” subject (lol). The state that I live in requires that students take a state mandated test. My 8th graders must pass the test to be promoted to high school. Needless to say, I am working fast and furious to make sure that they have learned everything that they need to know to be able to pass the test. The stress level for my students as well as for me is through the roof.

As you can see from my “before” pictures, I am extremely overweight and have been desperately seeking “the magic cure” about how to get rid of all of this weight. I have tried Atkins, South Beach, Weight Watchers, Weight Loss Management, etc. I have also tried many prescription and over the counter appetite suppressants that are available. I have tried hCG before but only used it sporadically. I chose to participate in the challenge knowing that if I made a commitment to the group, I would stick to it. The catalyst for me was Billy’s 18th birthday. When he turned 18, I looked at him and realized that he wasn’t a little boy anymore. It became apparent to me that if I didn’t do something about my weight, I would not be able to give Billy the care that he needs. My health at this point is very good. I have low cholesterol and low blood pressure but recently found out that I have allergies but nothing that isn’t manageable.

Wish me luck and check back often to see my progress.

Hi Sheila,
I live next door to you in LA. Looks like we have a good bit in common! I KNOW that even though life is really hard sometimes that losing this weight will make a big difference in the way you feel about yourself and it will help you deal with the stresses in your life. Good luck to you. I know you can do this!:)

Thanks for responding Susan and Cheryl. It is good to know that there are people in my general area that are in this with me. Susan - I live about 40 miles from you - small world. Cheryl - when I was younger, we lived in Slidell. I still have relatives there and also close to Monroe. I love to visit them and eat poor boys. I guess that is out now!
